Situated at the north-east region of Lake Tahoe, you’ll find over 50 acres of sandy beaches, rocky shoreline, shaded picnic areas and scenic trails managed but the Sand Harbor Nevada State Park. This beautiful region offers the iconic backdrop of the Sierra Nevadas, turquoise-blue water, and giant rocky boulders that scatter the sandy shore. With shallow coves and a unique underwater landscape, the water in the region perceivably clearer that anywhere else on the lake. 
 
Visitors are drawn to the Sand Harbor Nevada State Park to enjoy relaxation and many  recreational activities both on and off the water. Adventure enthusiasts might seek find entertainment from motorized boating and fishing to water-skiing/wake-boarding and jet-ski rentals (when available) while others kick back and enjoy the 365 degree beauty with a clear kayak or relax one the sandy beaches. Visitors seeking to explore, splash, paddle and play in the swimming areas can choose from a variety of standard and specialty kayaks and SUP rentals at our Clearly Tahoe rental concession located on the Main Beach within the park. Even on a windy day, guests can enjoy breathtaking views as well as educational information along the Sand Point walking trail. 

The Sand Harbor Nevada State Park offers and array of amenities for visitors from restroom facilities and wooded picnic areas to on-site restaurant and even an outdoor theater! During the summer months, guests can enjoy on-site Kayak and SUP rentals and swimming areas with lifeguards on duty
 (Memorial Day – Labor Day). Picnic areas offer tables and gill-pits shaded by cedar and Jeffery Pine trees with restrooms nearby. Guests who wish to grab a quick bite or even a cocktail to enjoy while relaxing on the beach can stop by the Kokanee snack bar, cocktail bar and grill. During summer months, the Sand Harbor Nevada State Park is home to the Shakespeare Festival with live performance every evening!
 

Due to heavy tourism, the Sand Harbor Nevada State park commonly closes early when parking has reached capacity. Guests wishing to enjoy this beautiful region can still do so by taking the 
East Shore shuttle into the park or biking in on the East Shore Trail. Visitors who simply wish to access the water for paddle along the shore can book a guided tour through Cleary Tahoe year-round (weather permitting).
