Arrive Early

Just because you made a Day Use Reservation to Sand Harbor does not mean you should wait until 10:30am to enter the park. Traffic and congestion can delay arrival times after 9:00am.

Reasons to Arrive Early:

  • Ensure Park Entry
  • Claim a good spot on the beach!
  • Paddle EARLY for the calmest lake-water conditions on Lake Tahoe.
  • Enjoy a greater variety of rental options!
  • Less Crowded
  • Shorter wait times in rental lines.
  • Longer rental use duration available.

Rental Options

All Clearly Tahoe rentals have use restrictions and limitations. It is important to have a paddle plan and know what type of vessel is best suited for the destination and weather conditions.

A Few Considerations:

  • Clearly Kayaks are often restricted to early morning use (before 12:00pm)
  • New Paddlers should plan to stay within Zone 1
  • Non-Self Bailing Kayaks are more restricted.
  • Padding with a partner will reduce strain and fatigue.
  • Children under 12 must ride with an adult 18+ outside of the swimming area.
  • Only 1 person per SUP outside of the swimming area.
  • You don’t need to paddle far to enjoy the iconic shoreline!
