Why paddle then you can pedal? Our Hobie kayaks offer a unique pedal driven propulsion system that enables guests to go faster and explore more during their time on the water. These vessels offer an array of amenities from dry storage to bungee straps and cupholders. Available in both single and double options, guests can choose to enjoy a Hobie Kayak independently or with a partner. These vessels do come with their own set of rental restrictions and are not permitted to go near the shoreline or rocky boulders. These vessels are best intended for guests who wish to travel a greater distance during their time on the water.

When to Visit

These vessels are suitable for the early morning when the water is calm and glassy. It is strongly advised to arrive early to obtain park entry. The Sand Harbor Nevada State Park does get busy and is subject to capacity closures very early in the morning June-September.

What to Wear

It is highly recommended that guests wear light layers and shoes that can be removed easily. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of getting wet and should dress accordingly. Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended.

Age Limitations

Age and weight restrictions do apply. All participants must be over the age of 5+ (no exceptions). Guests must be 12 years or older to paddle in their own rental vessel. Guests 5-11 must be accompanied by an adult 18+. All participants under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
