Paddle, Pedal or Sail along the turquoise-blue waters of Lake Tahoe on our Hobie Tandem Island! This incredible vessel offers flexibility and versatility to handle a wider range of weather conditions with interchangeable means of propulsion. The Hobie Tandem Island is designed for the experienced kayaker and does require a proficient ability to sail. Guests aboard the Hobie Tandem island can take advantage of dry storage areas, bungee storage straps, cupholders and even 2 trampolines for additional gear and accessories. While these are incredible recreational vessels, they are limited to guests with pre-existing sailing experience. If you are interested in gaining experience, we highly recommend trying our Hobie pedal kayaks first.

Note: Those who wish to use the trampolines for additional passengers must stay within Zone 3 limitations.

When to Visit

While the Hobie Tandem Island is designed to handle moderate wind conditions, it is best to get started early in the morning while the water is calm. It is strongly advised to arrive early to obtain park entry. The Sand Harbor Nevada State Park does get busy and is subject to capacity closures very early in the morning Jun-September.

What to Wear

It is highly recommended that guests wear light layers and shoes that can be removed easily. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of getting wet and should dress accordingly. Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are highly recommended.

Age Limitations

Age and weight restrictions do apply. All participants must be over the age of 5+ (no exceptions). Guests must be 12 years or older to paddle in their own rental vessel. Guests 5-11 must be accompanied by an adult 18+. All participants under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

Capacity Limitations

Double: 2 Guest, Maximum Weight Capacity 600lbs.
